The time I nearly died
Bella is a 16-year old girl. She has long pitch black and wavy hair with ocean blue eyes. She has two best friends with the names of Danielle and Morgan. She calls them Ellie and Morgy, the three of them are at the same age. She has a younger sister named Belle who is a year younger than her. This is a story of when Bella nearly died.
It all started one Tuesday on the 18th of October, when Bella was lying down on her bed. Her phone suddenly rang making her startled, she checked the phone and saw it was her friend, Ellie who was calling. She pushed the green button and talked to her, “Hey Bella, what are you doing right now?” she heard her ask on the other side of the phone. “Nothing really, I’m just lying down on my bed getting bored because my younger sister is not here, why do you ask?”. “I was just wondering if we could skydive near Campbell River, I’m going to ask Morgy if she could go as well,” she said.
Bella smiled, “Sure, count me in, we could spend our day right there.” She said and she could imagine her with a large and big smile that could reach the sky. “Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’m gonna hang up now and tell her about it, bye,” she said ending the call.
She put her phone down on her bedside table and got up from her warm and comfy bed. She walked to her bathroom, took her clothes off and jumped into the shower letting the warm water hit her body. After that, she got out and wrapped a towel around her body, she started drying her hair and changed into her new clothes. ‘I wonder if Morgy is free today, I wish she could go and hang out with us’ She thought to herself. She took out a bag and put her clothes in for skydiving. After putting the things she needed, she heard the doorbell ring, “Coming.” She said and walked towards the door, She opened it and saw her two best friends in front of her, “Hey Bella, are you ready? I brought my car for our ride,” Morgy said. She smiled and said, “As ready as I’ll ever be.” Morgy laughed and jumped into the driver’s seat, Bella in the passenger’s seat while Ellie in the back seat.
They were talking about what they did while they were not together and until they got tired talking, Bella still tried opening her eyes but she just let sleep take over her. After a few hours, “Bella wake up, we're here,” a voice said waking her up from her dreamland. She opened her eyes only to be blinded by the light. She closed and rubbed her eyes and then looked around, ‘Where am I?’ she asked herself and the memories came into her, “Good morning Ellie, good morning Morgy,” she greeted her friends, “Actually it’s already in the afternoon,” Ellie said. She rolled her eyes and got out of the car, she got her bag from the car and realised they are outside of a hotel near a river, “We can skydive tomorrow but let’s get to the hotel first,” Morgy said. They came in the hotel and walked towards the checkout counter, “Room for three people please,” Ellie said, “That would be $150 for the three of you,” the girl on the other side of the counter said. Ellie handed her money and the girl accepted it, she turned round to get the key and gave it to Ellie, “Room 127, enjoy your stay,” the girl said smiling. They mumbled a small ‘thank you’ and got into the elevator, there were 10 buttons for each floor and so they pushed the 3rd-floor button. They got out from the elevator and looked around for their room, after they found it, Ellie opened the door to their room and came in. After that, Morgy passed out on the bed in the middle while Ellie sits on the bed at the right side of Ellie. She was so lucky as she has her bed near the window which she really like. They ate their lunch and dinner, watched on the television and the next thing she knows is passing out on her bed.
“Wake up sleepyhead! We have to get ready!” two familiar voices shouted and that woke Bella up, she opened her eyes and said, “Okay, okay you don’t have to yell at me, I could become deaf after that. I saw Ellie and Morgy smirking, “You are such a heavy sleeper,” Ellie complained, “Oh hush, you know that I like sleeping right?” she said smiling, “Right, right, just get ready,” Ellie said rolling out her eyes. She got up from her bed, took a shower and changed into her clothes, “I’m ready, let’s go,” she said, they got out from their room and Ellie locked our door, they got into the elevator, when they’re on the first floor, they walked outside and towards the skydiving place.
They arrived at the place and came in, they saw a person sitting on the counter, she saw them and smiled, “Welcome, how may I help you?” “We would like to have three tickets for skydiving please?” Bella asked her, “Ah sure, that would be $60.00 for the three of you,” she said, Morgy opened her bag and grabbed her wallet, she got her $60.00 and handed it to the girl, “Thank you, and as for that, you just have to go straight, you would see a line of people and you just have to join the line until it’s your turn to do it, have a nice day,” she smiled. They thanked her and followed the instructions the girl told them, they saw a line of people and joined them. After waiting for it looks like a month, it was their turn to skydive, they grabbed their things and the three of them got in the helicopter. They flew up into the sky and when it’s high enough to jump off, the helicopter stopped at the top of a river.
They all wear their gear and got ready for jumping off, the instructor firstly told them the instructions before going off. The most important thing they should do is to pull the ripcord to open the parachute. They nod their heads and jumped off, they were all laughing and having fun but it was time to open their parachutes. Ellie opened her first while Morgan opened hers after, Bella pulled her ripcord but the parachute didn’t come out, she tried again but failed. “Bella, open your parachute now, you will fall into the water!” her friends yelled at her, “I’m trying but it doesn’t come out!” she replied to them. She was falling off very fast and at the last minute, she closed her eyes and luckily, she hit the water. Instead of swimming up, she fell unconscious while her friends fall down, took off their gears and swam into the river to save their friend.
They got Bella out of the water and Morgan started pushing down her hands in the centre of her chest, While Ellie is calling someone on her phone. Some people came running towards them for help, Morgan pushed down her hands faster and before they know it, Bella was coughing out the water that came in. Her friends smiled and hugged her, people around then are smiling like they were in a drama show. They were lucky that there was water, without the water Bella could’ve hit the ground. She was doing fine but she still have to go to the hospital, an ambulance came and take Bella with her friends inside the ambulance. They arrived there with Bella’s mum and sister waiting for them with worries plastered on their faces. When they saw me, their faces lit up and ran to me for a hug. Bella them opened her arms for them and hugged her sister and mum, “I’m so glad you’re okay, I just got a call from Ellie telling me that you fell into the water ‘and’ you weren't waking up.” “I’m sorry mum, don't be worried, I'm safe now." Her mum smiled and they came in the hospital, they came in what looks like a doctor’s office. They all sat down and waited for the doctor to be done checking Bella if she’s okay.
After the doctor is done, she turned around and look at them and smiled, “She looks fine, no need to worry anymore.” Bella’s mum, sisters and friends sighed as a sign of relief, they all smiled and hugged Bella. They thanked the doctor, went out of the office and walked towards the car park where her mum’s car has been parked. , “You know what, I’m not gonna let you three go out without my permission, even when Ellie called me earlier and I thought Bella is dead which was a lie And you also scared me!” Bella’s mum said continuously without breathing, Bella and her friends even her sister laughed. Since then, they all did what they are told but they still remembered what happened to Bella.
