The Feasts of Christmas

The Feasts of Christmas

Luke 2:1-14Screenshot 2016-12-12 at 11.33.57 AM.png
This reading is used during Christmas night because this is when Jesus, the Messiah has been born.
This reading reveals or tells about Jesus is born and it is when an angel told the shepherds that a Saviour is born with angels praising God and saying that Jesus is to come in glory.

Luke 2:15-20
This reading is used during Christmas morning because this is when the shepherds heard about Jesus and after seeing Him, they glorified and praised God.
The shepherds did accept the message they received and after seeing Jesus, they praised and glorified God for what they have heard and seen which was told by an angel of the Lord.

Matthew 2:13-18 - The Feast of the Holy Innocents
This reading is used during on Sunday after Christmas after the reading about the birth of Jesus because this is when Herod tried killing Jesus by killing innocent children.

Some people are happy and glad while others are mad or angry after they heard about Jesus being born, what is really sad about this reading is that many innocent children have been sacrificed and killed by Herod.

Advent

Advent

The 27th of November was the first day of the week and also the first week of Advent before Christmas Time. Advent is a time of change. The first noticeable change in the church was the change of colours on the altar that went from the green of ordinary time to purple - the colour for Advent.
When celebrating the Advent, most Christians make Advent wreaths and light a purple candle for the first week of Advent, the second purple for the second week, the pink for the third week, the third purple for the fourth week and the white for the day of Christmas. Each five candles have a meaning, the first one is ‘The Candle of Hope’ or ‘The Prophecy Candle’. The second is ‘The Candle of Preparation’ or ‘The Bethlehem Candle’. The third is ‘The Candle of Joy’ or ‘The Shepherd Candle’. The fourth is ‘The Candle of Love’ or ‘The Angel Candle’. Some Christians add a white candle in the Advent Wreath while others don’t, it is the last and the most important one which is the ‘Christ candle’.

All Saint's Day

All Saint's Day

If I could choose a saint, I would choose St. Mary, the Blessed Virgin Mother of God.

I chose her because she is the Mother of Jesus, she is a very caring Mother who loves and cares for all of us and especially, Jesus. We are all important to her so, we all love her in our heart and in our mind. For this, it means that she is also important for us  and for all people in the world. She is also the Patron Saint of humanity, which means us and all the people who lived or who are still living in this world.
